Nichole Kang

Director, Family Services

Nichole Kang, Ph.D., HPC's director for family services, is responsible for overseeing programming that occurs within the community, in locations like social service agencies, client homes, health centers, and shelters. Dr. Kang is the director for both Focus on Families and the Health Intervention Program. Focus on Families works with primarily low-income fathers around issues of parenting, including parenting education and case management, as well as healthy-relationships education for couples and co-parents. The Health Intervention Program offers intensive in-home case management for families struggling to meet their child's special healthcare needs.

Before coming to HPC in 2012, Dr. Kang worked for another PHMC affiliate, Resources for Children’s Health, where she managed the previously named Focus on Fathers program and conducted direct parenting education services for fathers in Philadelphia. She is also a PA Keys certified instructor and has facilitated hundreds of professional development presentations at child care agencies in the Philadelphia metro area. 

Dr. Kang has a Bachelor degree in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and a Master degree and Ph.D. in Life-Span Developmental Psychology from West Virginia University.
