Hypertension, also referred to as high blood pressure, is a condition in which the arteries have persistently elevated blood pressure. Having high blood pressure raises your risk for heart disease, stroke, and kidney disease. There are a number of genetic and lifestyle risk factors such as race, obesity, diet, and tobacco use. HPC programs help Southeastern Pennsylvanians fight these risk factors through education, intervention, tobacco cessation, and healthcare provider training.
