Type 2 Diabetes Risk Test

Employers can take action to prevent type 2 diabetes.

  • Ask your health plan if they cover the National Diabetes Prevention Program. If not, negotiate to include it as an important benefit.  Review the CDC National DPP Impact Toolkit for resources to help you make your case.

  • Consider offering National DPP directly to your employees in one or more of the following ways:

    • Work with a community-based or health system National DPP supplier to refer your employees.

    • Host the National DPP at your worksite using the in-person or virtual  learning option available through an external community-based or health care organization.

    • Have a member of your staff trained to become a certified Lifestyle Coach to conduct the National DPP.

  • Raise awareness about prediabetes and preventing type 2 diabetes using these resources:

    • Share the type 2 diabetes risk test.

    • Inform your employees about the National Diabetes Prevention Program through newsletters, email blasts, video links.
